If your dog likes to eat his own feces (Coprophagia) then take him to your vet for a check up.

Try putting cayenne pepper on the area your dog likes to dig the most. The strong smell should deter him.

A second dog might be the answer but you could end up with two digging dogs and twice the problem.

If you play with your dog while you are planting or digging the garden he will think it is ok to do this every time.

Place a sprinkler on a hose in the area the dog digs. While he is in the act of digging, turn on the sprinkler.

If you arrive home and find your garden all dug up, do not reprimand your dog. He has no way of knowing why you are angry with him. You must catch him actually digging, for any reprimand to make sense.

Never physically punish your dog for digging.
